🗺️ Quest Connections & Lore

Gold Bullion is central to the storyline of the Wastelanders expansion: * Connection to Jen and the Settlers: During the preparation for the Vault 79 raid for the Settlers faction (Foundation), the player assists Jen. As part of her questline, the player receives a stack of 10 Gold Bullions left by Jen along with her personal note (W05_MQA_206P_JensNote). This serves as an important story moment highlighting Jen's family situation and motivations. * The Final Raid: In the climax of the main questline, "Secrets Revealed", players breach the gold depository of Vault 79. At the end, the player must decide how to distribute the 1,000 initial Gold Bullions: keep all of it for themselves (causing a slight loss in reputation with both factions) or split it with the Settlers and/or Raiders.

💰 In-Game Purpose & Vendors

Gold Bullion is used exclusively to purchase plans for high-tier gear and useful C.A.M.P. items from specialized gold vendors.

Major Gold Vendors:

  1. Regs — Located inside Vault 79 (accessible after completing the main story). He offers the widest selection of items, including the Secret Service Armor, T-65 Power Armor, and their respective mods.
  2. Samuel — Located in Foundation. His inventory expands as the player's reputation with the Settlers increases.
  3. Mortimer — Located in Crater. Offers plans in exchange for gold, dependent on the player's reputation with the Raiders.
  4. Minerva — A traveling merchant who appears at select settlements on a rotating weekly schedule, selling gold plans at a 25% discount.

Items Purchased with Gold Bullion:

  • Secret Service Armor and T-65 Power Armor.

📈 How to Obtain Gold Bullion

Players can accumulate gold through several methods: * Treasury Notes: Earned by completing Public Events and faction daily quests. These can be exchanged for Gold Bullion at Gold Press Machines located in major hubs (Foundation, Crater, Whitespring Mall). * Smiley: Weekly purchase of up to 300 Gold Bullion for 6,000 Caps at the Wayward.
